Help!
Just bought a bungalow, ( a repossession) that has been empty for over a year so you can imagine what last winter did to the heating system. A sign on the boiler, an Alpha 240E said the system had been drained but it must have been after the big freeze. Checked the pipework in the roof and repaired a number of blown joints. Tried to fill the system but then realised the pump was leaking. On closer examination a 50mm x 60mm chunk of cast has been blown out of the back of the pump by the frost. It appears to be a specific pump for this boiler and at around the £100 mark I don't want to shell out my hard earned only to find the boiler is shot so my questions are, a) can I test the boiler for water tightness without the pump in situ or b) is there anywhere i could just buy the pump body as the pump has 1" bsp fittings and an air separator?

Just buy a cheap pump from screw fiddle.

What pump is in there ate the mo Grundfos 15-50??

Pump is Grundfos 15-60 but with 1"bsp fittings as opposed to the standard 1 1/2" ones. Also it has an air separator on the housing.

Sorry just realised this is an internal pump

You might as well just buy a new boiler

And you shouldn't be touching this pump. Everything inside the boiler is GSR only

Just an update. Cobbled up some plugs to replace the pump. Pressurized the system and all watertight. Bought a pre-used pump for £35. Got the system checked and serviced by a GSR guy and heating up and running for less than £140. Much cheaper than a new boiler. A great big thanks for nothing to SimonJohns for his unhelpful advice and Prima Donna attitude. Don't bother replying to this post cos I won't be back.
