Hi all,

Not sure if I've come to the right place, but I'm sure all you clever people out there will laught at how stupid my question is and tell me the answer in seconds...

I have a Zanussi 5 burner gas hob (not sure how old it is but the property is only about 5 yrs old anyway). When we turn 3 of the 5 burners down to simmer (whatever that means, wrong department - this is 'eating' you need 'cooking' to answer that one) the gas goes out completely, when the other two are turned down they go down no problem.

Has anyone else experienced this? Can I get it repaired or is it knackered as I'm lead to believe?

Many thanks in advance for all of your help.

ps I don't know what model it is.

Newbie1 is right 100% , I went on a landlords gas cert this morning , and the landlord asked me to fit a new thermocouple on his cooker while I was there as the old one wasnt holding , he had the part , so I stripped down half the cooker just to get at it , got covered in grease , only to find out that he had bought the wrong part ! when I told him to come back and re fit the right part would cost him £70 , he said for a bit more he could get a reconditioned cooker wih a guarantee ! Thats why gas engineers dont fix cookers !

cooker repairs are just not financially viable take average labour of 30-00 per hour and agro involved in fidly little parts and it is more grief then gain
