So the guy who led my gas course reckons you have to be Part P qualified to change immersions??? I think he's wrong..

Can anyone clarify?

That's what I thought. Fair enough if you're installing a new immersion then yes you have to be Part P and notify building control guys or waste money with a scheme..

I knew he was wrong.. Cheers rpm

Let`s see what others say first jay that`s just how I understand it to be but feel 100%.

My understanding is anything downstream of spur is ok however most immersions are just switched (no spur) No miner works cert is required providing the immersion is of the same output as no alteration to circuits have been made.

If you ever have to notify build control when you fit an immersion heater, i will call it a day lol

I thought you had to if you install it on a new separate circuit??

Sounds good to me. Today I replaced 4 saniflo`s, 2 at switched or fused spur, 1 wired plug & 1 cable connector box and I`m not part P.

Post #1 was about change, but I was referring to post #12 with the alternative

I got the wrong end of the stick on post #7... Oops IGNORE the new install posts

Wouldn`t call best part of £2800 sh**ty myself and before anyone starts that`s gross and the company gets it not me.

Was that just for replacing saniflo's?
