Hi all, just looking to pick the brains of you pro plummers out there.

I have luke warm water coming outa the taps.
I have a cold water tank in the attic and a hot water tank in a cupboard.
My heating is working fine but not my hot water.

I all so checked my motorised value under my hot water tank and it does seem to be moving freely.

I can put the hot water on boost by its self and hear the boiler doing its thing, but no hot water.

If i put the immersion heater on i get plenty of hot water?
Could it be the therostat on my hot water tank that gone?

Any help or ideas would be greatly helpfull!

Hot at the bottom before the top? Sounds like it's heating up through the return. Make sure the top pipe is very hot on the side of cylinder, after the zone valve. The recovery rate should be about an hour and half max. You shouldn't have to wait until morning. If not then you could have airlocks or blockages or zone valve failure.

Sorry bad disciption.....
Before it would not get warm at the bottom at all.
Now the top is hot and the bottom is warm, tomorrow morning will be the test.
Otherwise its time to get our plummer in.

Check your boiler temp is up. If that's low and you don't have a rad connected to the cylinder pipe work then then boiler could be turning off before the hot water has a chance to heat up fully, especially if the cylinder close close to the boiler.

Just thought I would update this thread....... in the end I replaced the thermostat on the tank for £15 pounds thought it was worth a go. Now I have steaming hot water again, ;) For all those that said the thermostat, take a bow. thanks for all your input guys.
