Left school with the promise of a plumbing apprenticeship with my dad's mate who owns HBS Southern. I also played football with his son. Completed a 3 year apprenticeship with them with one of the neatest plumbers around who taught me everything. Wouldn't let me cut corners and made me do everything right. I hated it at the time but I'm grateful now. I left there as didn't enjoy working on site on pricework all that much. I joined a bathroom company, fitting bathrooms for 4-5 years then went out on my own as self employed. I absolutely love it. Don't get me wrong I get the odd job that's a nightmare but it's mainly great. I wouldn't go back to being a subby again in a hurry

Plumbing since 1983 , dad and four out of five uncle's are plumbers. Other uncle is an electrian! What choice did I have.

Worked with my electrician uncle for a while, got a few shocks! Prefer being a plumber. Not drowned yet or blown myself up.
