liners must be guaranteed for 15 years the only way you can check its integrity is to remove it and inspect if in any doubht replace

Try to stay away from gas fires myself but found this an interesting quote - you are saying that if you fit a gas fire with a liner then you need to remove the liner to check as the flue flow test wont suffice?

I try to steer clear as well, there's just no money in them.They always take longer than you think. There's nearly always an issue, surrounds not being sealed,under size pipe work etc etc. I just stick to servicing them where I can.

This is why I don't do them generally.

Why do you think i suggested fitting a electric fire ? none of the problems, safe'r to use, & landlord proberly wont pay for what needs doing !.
