what make of shower is it as a trevi boost works off tank fed hot and mains cold water

whoops should have read all the posts instead of a couple the boost already mentioned

Hi again guys,

Rang the guy up and he gave excuse after excuse, trying to give it the old sweet talk to my dad, but I wasn't having any of it. He simply does not understand the concept of unbalanced pressures. Even when explained to him in what I like to call "Pakistani English" :D The trevi boost shower is a no go I'm afraid as we simply can't afford such an expensive shower as I've read mixed reviews of it. He's gonna rip a few tiles off and reconnect the cold water pipe from the gravity fed tank. I think he may have mucked the pipework up because of us having a gravity fed system and an old hot water cylinder, as there is only around 2.5-3m distance from the bottom of the cold water tank to the shower mixer and since it's an overhead shower, he probably thought more pressure is better haha. I've realised that it probably requires minimum 1 bar of pressure, so we're going to have to change it. I really wanted to get a GROHE-Grohtherm-1000-Thermostatic-Shower-Mixer-KIT as I heard Grohe have fantastic build quality (again minimum 1 bar of pressure). My uncles combi boiler still works when the pressure is below 0.5 bar and his hansgrohe shower still kicks out a decent amount of water. Would it be impractical to buy a shower with a minimum of 1 bar, when I have only 0.25-0.3 bars.

Many thanks in advance!

if you have low pressure you need a low pressure shower many manufacturers make low/high pressure showers including grohe

Don't worry about Ruff, he's a grumpy tiler in the middle of learning the facts of life and how far down the food chain he exists!

Evol, may I suggest you tell us roughly where you are mate? It might be an idea to get one of us in to look.

Hi there,

I have checked everywhere but can't seem to find a grohe shower that supports from 0.1 bar minimum. I found one 'Cosmopolitan 1000' that stated it was 0.1 bar on one site, but every other site claims it is 1 bar minimum pressure. Help! Haha

without checkingso dont quote me i think the avensys does both high and low pressure

Hi Croppie,

Unfortunately this isn't feasible as my parents are adamant on making this guy finish the job and they don't want to cause any aggro, because this guy still hasn't been paid yet haha.

Kick him off the job and get a tiler into plumb it right, after all it is easy so they say. :):):):):)

thats why i asked how he knew the pressure but he is keeping it a secret ha ha
