I'm confused at to how to bond my gas meter

So recently my meter was moved from under the statirs to outside,now the earth bonding has to be put on where the meter was moved. Cadent left a note telling us it needs to be done

Under the stairs where the meter used to be had an earth bonding that went straight to the electric meter. Now since the Pipe is under the floorboard I don't know where to stick the new bonding. Either outside on the pipe next to the meter and just bonding it there with like a metre of wire or do I have to connect back to the old bonding to where the meter used to be, meaning I feed the wire and connect it from the meter to the old bonding.

If anyone could help I'd appreciate it

At the meter outside or the point of entry no more than 600mm from the meter , ideally it should have no joins and be 10mm earth green and yellow cable and be visible I would run the cable in and get a electrician to connect it. Cheers Kop

Why was the meter moved?

If you chose to have it moved, it is your respobsibility.

If, however, Cadent moved it for their reasons, ie, a leak, repipe or mains upgrade etc, it is THEIR responsibility. At least, when I worked for NG, we would arrange an electrical contractor to reinstate bond at NG's expense.

As for how, KOP is accurate, although it os not notifiable, so I see no reason why it cannot be done DIY, providing you are competant

Unless they want to re new the whole length don't think they will have crimpers etc as it needs to be continuously
