Exodus

Hi I am running 4 showers simultaneously as I have a small personal training center. But when more then 1 shower in being used the water pressure seems to drop. I am running an unvented 24kw 300 litre direct hot water tank. And my cold is coming straight from the mains. My cold water pressure seems to be good. I have used 15mm piping for the showers and suspect this could be the problem? Could anyone with better knowledge please help. If you need any more info let me no.

sorry to say rip out and start again

I have just tested the flowrate of 1 shower and I got 10l in 1 min. What flow rate should I get and where should I test?

You need to check the cold incoming main pressure and flow rate n pipe size to make sure its adequate to accommodate the showers and the tank,
TBH when the tank was fitted the benchmark section should've been filled n signed telling you all your hot n cold pressures n flow rates etc

Anyway, the discharge should not go into a bucket.
The hot draw off should extend in 22mm to the first 2 showers as should the cold.
There is a restrictive ISO on the cold to the cylinder where as it should be full bore

No clipping is poor
Electrics are shocking
Also cold + hots should be balanced.
Are there tmvs installed to those shower heads?

Has he registered the cylinder via building control?

U lot...... What chancers.

That install is good. Almost good enough to get in hall of shame.

Billy don't use the "p" word any more . If someone googles it they may get this thread and it would be a travesty. It's clearly not DIY as no ptfe on threads.

You have been mugged big time .

Did you say it was a gym? Offer 20 members free membership for a year to kick the plebs teeth in..... Or was it one of your members and that's the main problem?

Just looked at pics and defo not a plumber as purely compression so illegally fitted and probably not commissioned,

To Exodus it's imperative that you get a proper G3 qualified engineer in to make sure that proper pressure inside the expansion vessel and that all pressures and flow rates are properly documented, had this been done to start with you wouldn't have problems now,
I think the install is defo been done by a diyer ,

What TMV would you recommend?

My cowboy plumber fitted me a weird thermostat that looked something like a central heating thermostat and it was killing my shower pressure. I took it off and put a straight T on it and the pressure went up dramatically is their a tmv you would recommend that wouldn't kill the pressure and flow rate. I was looking at one on screw fix for 49.99 that looked good. I am running 3 showers with it.

Just be careful with modifying your hot water system, although we have all commented on how rough it looks you should get a G3 qualified plumber to check the installation over for safe working.

Altering part or parts of an unvented system can remove the safety measures put in place and put your life and the lives of others in danger.
