Been on the course, met up with Buckley plumb.

The course was way to short and only skimmed the surface in my opinion. I've got the five year warranty anyway.
Setting the parameters looks quite complex to me.

Setting the parameters is fairly straightforward using the manual. Any problems help is only a phone call away and you get to speak to someone who actually works on and understands the boilers.

Personally I prefer it when boilers are more intuitive to use and programme. I'm not convinced with intergas tbh. In all honesty I hate all condensers, there just to complex.

I did mine at colne, and it was around 10am till 3 pm, lots of hands on and info,

I agree mate course needs to be a full day realy. the prv looks worse than the Worcester to remove and the flow sw looks a tad difficult to access also the sparker probe looks tight to get out . like the idea of the 22mm heat ex

I'm on it in June, at Sittingbourne. It's a fair old schlep for me, so it better be worthwhile!

never got to ask on course and the manual does not state - does the boiler come with a marking out template or do you have to mark out

Im doing mine at burgess hill, Steve willis training.

thats where i do my apprenticeship.

they have said they will award me the 5year guarantee when i get my qualifications awarded.

Pretty sure it comes with a template, I've fitted two and I'm sure it would've stuck in my mind if it hadn't. Like the really crap worcestor efforts.

Ahh you'll be able to tell who i am gasman, ill be the spotty short and tubby kid :)

Are they quality cardboard ones like the ideal templates? Or flappy paper crap ones? I'm desperate to try these boilers.

There not as polished as most boilers as far as instalation goes. They look like someone built them in a shed. Various different kits for pressure vessels, spacer kits and flues. Not a bad boiler though, but not quite sure what the fuss is about.

I agree eh are not the most attractive boiler but they have spent the money where it counts, the heat exchanger is a work of art imho.

The various kits they do make them very flexible and this is a positive point if you ask me rather than being stuck with one prescribed solution.

Not really sure I agree about the kits! External vessel: something else to explain to custard, as if there isn't enough already and who wants an extra vessel the the size of a football any way. The only time custards are ok with it are when it's saving them money in a replacement. Instead of the boiler coming of the wall.
And the other kit: a flue centralising kit, when all "normal" boilers are central to start with. And it's there design fault making one necessary.

think the main selling point is no plate hex to block up that's a plus

External vessel = you can size it correctly for the system you are fitting it to, and also reduce the fitted depth of the boiler if required. If you don't want on then just fit the rear mount kit.

Flue being of centre, as you say they do a of set kit which eliminates the 'problem' at no additional cost anyway.

Main heat exchanger is a work of art, very well made, and imo the main selling point. I seem to recall having been told they offer them with a 15yr warranty on the continent, and are yet to have a failure after after nearly 20 years on the market.

The offset kit is extra cost. I'm not against these boilers, but not particularly for them either.

I stand corrected, Vince the big wig engineer said it was extra.

The offset flue kit works out at an extra 8 to 10 quid but if you dont use the offset you can use it as a standard 45 bend on another job. Its normally 16 quid.

worth getting it as part of the flue kit.

also it wont matter about the 2 m public liability after this year.
that was down to the last director in the uk (who stalled progress and and caused problem got booted out the door a couple of months or maybe a year ago)

the new director on track to market the boiler more and wants a factory in the uk!

As of the end of the year 5 years will be the standard(10 i think for the heat exchanger), by being on the installer programme you might get more (guy wasn't too sure if this was going to go ahead)
also there will be "incentives" for installing a certain amount of boilers.

On the boiler the things i liked
no diverter valve! Lpg conversion is easy, can take the boiler apart quickly, one seal!
can easily reset it back to default, fault finding is easy as pie, mirror +viewing hole on the side of boiler to see if sparking correctly, ignition pin is SOLID, has a intergrated bowl and drain for changing the pump, requires no pump overrun!
any intergas boiler can be used as open vented.

can set combis as a system boiler only or just as a water heater. Say you leave a job at 11pm and you can connect only the hot water side, set to water heater and it wont try to run the ch if demand is made and visa versa.

I loved that they condense even in hot water mode!

a note the guy pointed out about about sentinal x800
if left in the system it can "cool" into a jelly like substance in the pump, when it fires again it kills the pump.

do you guys fit a bypass when fitting them or just use a rad .
