anyone here used the intergas open vented boilers?
the scenario is existing is a 60000 btu open vented ideal e type in the garage gravity primaries and pumped heating with pump adjacent to boiler
its a largish 4 bed semi rads are old but in good nick with trvs on some all non convecter double panels with a couple of curved singles in the bays they say the house is warm enough with the rads
there not to keen on the major disruption of new pipework through out
im planning to fit a intergas with unvented cylinder in the garage as ive heard they are more tolerant to dirty systems i will be power flushing and fitting a filter but with an old system you can never be sure
cant actually see the cylinder and primaries yet as its all boxed in at the back of the cupboard but im assuming i can extend the cf and vent along the route of the existing primaries down to the garage
ive never used intergas before so looking for others experiences pointers to what does and doesnt come with them any quirks withing the instal instructions

The flues off centre, that's all I can think of. The pressure vessel kits carp, but that won't affect you.

You can get an elbow from Intergas which fits perfectly to line up with a central flue.

And the collar sits slightly past the wall, which you have to leave exposed to satisfy gas safe.

Good boilers but I am getting a bit hacked off with their support side. It took them 2 weeks to send an LPG conversion kit down to me after sending me the wrong one the first time. The area rep is either dead or has left as I've left numerous messages which haven't been answered.

i don't think they take the U.K market seriously enough. A lot of empty promises, I've sent 3 emails about the lack of my business being registered on their site, yet still get the 'it's been sent to holland and will be added in the next few weeks' crap from them.

I try to support good products but they don't seem interested in helping me out when required.

I've started to spec vogues now instead unless the system is really chatty, see how that goes.

sad to hear that, as the newish rep down here sent me bits I needed by return of post ermie. E mail their uk boss, he doesnt like cock ups from what I hear. Dont worry about not being registered, just had a peak and may details are all wrong and the 2 subbies down here that do their repairs arent even on the system either :)

Ermi? Put your glasses on!

I'm down here with you and when I first got in contact, Chris was fantastic. We met up for a chat and he was interested in supporting an idea I had going. It didn't work out at that time and then that was the last I heard of him. I was supposed to be getting their service/repair work but again an empty promise.

Its the principles that annoy me, I go out of my way to attend a course on their product to support it, yet they can't even upload my contact details!

As it happens the idea may be going ahead again now but I doubt I'll be calling them up, Ideal are keen and so far have been quite helpful.

sorry got crossed eyed with the crossed legs:). I refuse to let one of the subbies go near my custards, yet the others brilliant. Like you, been and had a drink with chris, never had a call again, despite giving him a heads up on a potential embarrassment to their company caused by his predecessor. trouble is I like the product.

The problem I have is when things go wrong I like to know the back up is good also. The first thing the customer said when I finally managed to get the LPG kit was 'let's hope it doesn't ever break down'

Had the same problem with them keep sending the wrong LPG disc,(2 Weeks) due to part No being the same, had a visit from subi took a week to get some one down, came down from Barnstable , after striping every part off boiler & replacing most of them & several calls to Tec, finds disc wrong size, (never had this B4) was not over impressed with back up, but boiler works very well (Heating swimming pool) Waiting for new boiler with internal Ex tank and centre flue, may help keep purchase cost down,

you got the one I refused to ever let near my custards then, good lad in South Moulton though :)

Its a shame as their product in theory is great. I have specced two recently. I should have been on their website as an installer a month ago and am not. This thread is not giving me that much confidence if they do have problems when I put them in. Im going to put them in and see what happens. My local supplier supplies the boiler and so should supply the parts if **** go up.

Cheers jon
