This is strange! I live in an apartment above a bar thats being used for "other purposes" and someone is consistently running the dishwasher but not to wash dishes. Ever since these people have started using the dishwasher consistently, every time I turn on my bathwater I am hearing a loud vibrating sound that also sounds like bass from a stereo but is coming from the bars dishwasher and my bath water being used at the same time. My shower walls are also fiberglass and makes the sound even louder! When I put my ear up to the the back of my fiberglass shower wall, I can hear the dishwasher from the bar running. When they take a break from this consistent use of the dishwasher, I don't hear this god awful sound. My kitchen is on the opposite side of my bathroom and this sound can be heard in my kitchen as well. Can someone help me with this sound or what could be causing this sound? FYI, I am aware that I need to contact the apartment manager, I have and nothing is being done. I also have no idea what these people are washing cycle after cycle after cycle when this bar Isnt even open.

Bit of a rock and a hard place. What happens if you turn on the tap real slow and only say half open or less? (Bath or Shower?)

Probably not a dishwasher downstairs anymore perhaps . . . but you could suggest to the landlord they might fit something like following if they can't fix the fault causing the hammering (may be simpler to fix the fault e.g. faulty tank ball valve, or lose tap washer/jumper)

I guess put something in writing to the landlord so you can't be made responsible for any damage that occurs when the pipes fail.

Best of luck.
