Milky hot water. Recently had a Viessmann 100-W combi boiler installed. Now when the hot water reaches any tap it is very 'milky'. This appears to be micro bubbles and clears, upwards, in a few seconds leaving no residue. Though this is a hard water area in 45 years have never had this cloudy water. What is the cause......anyone know?

If it's a vissmann combi boiler get in touch with vissmann they should be able to tell you unless there is a breach some were between the heating heat exchanger and the hot water heat exchanger it could and might be the additive that was added to the heating just a sujestion drain off some of the water in the rads or boiler and see what way it is is it the same milky water in the rads The older type of vissmann combi boilers had rubber hoses and these used to break down from the inside and block the hot water heat exchanger but you have not got this issue but any good engineer should be able to test that water

Most of the combi boilers that are installed in the UK there is a kit that most installers use like a heating filter and a water mains filter maybe and just maybe that the mains filter is faulty in some way maybe there is a break down in this mains water filter but you can substitute this filter it is only used to prevent the lime scale that is in the mains with a piece of 15 mm copper nock of the water before takeing out the filter substitute it with the 15mm copper pipe turn on the mains water and fire the boiler and see does this by bypassing the water filter work as a matter of fact if you have bad lime scale in the water mains and you use a water softener to clean the water a water softener is not recommended to use on a heating system by the manufacturer but your local vissmann agent will confirm this
