Motorised valve clicking

Just discovered a loud ticking noise coming from the boiler area and the zone valve seems to be causing it with a metal lever moving in one direction then resetting and trying again.

It's only just started and system is new, less than 6m full CH replaced, pipes/rads/boiler/magnetic filter etc.

Is there anything I can do as a competent DIYer before I get hold of my plumber on Tuesday?

Seems a cheap valve. Might be jumping the cogs a little.

Just so I know where I stand with my plumber... When you say old does that mean for a new system installed in Dec 21 he has put in old/reused gear? I've only had Honeywell before and they have lasted me 5yrs+ every time.

Depending on where it was purchased from, could be “new” old stock.
