Combi boiler will not help. Now all your water pipes are on mains pressure running through the boiler, so any pressure surge from the mains supply will affect your hot pipes too, to some degree.
I have lifted floor and see the hot pipes are, as you indicated, also affected.

I clipped and saddle clamped the cold which has actally made the noise worse so need to investigate /clip further ....
 
Question. There is a non return valve installed just before the main enters the combi. Is this likely to cause a noise problem itself on pressure transition .
It was fitted to try and prevent (unsuccessfully) the boiler fans starting when cold taps used.

Shutting the stop tap reduces flow not pressure

Cut out any dead legs that can trap air
Clip pipes
Pressure reducing valve
Shock arrestor
Hi scott_d , can you, or any other posters , recomend any particular makes of shock arrestor and pressure reducing valve from experience?
