On the phone for over an hour with nest and still no answers. They wanna send a pro. What to do eh.

have you tried wiring the nest with the receiver as its only a m away to try it ?
 
I haven't mate. Unsure whether it's worth the risk. I'm not the greatest at electrics as you may have gathered. The way I've done it is I've removed the old receiver and used the existing wiring to the new nest. The nest receiver is ready to pair with the stat but the stat can't pick it up. When I spoke to nest they asked whether pressing the button on the receiver switched the heating on, and it doesn't. So they suggested a pro have a look at the wiring.

But surely if the Nest receiver is powered by 230v wouldn't that then transfer to the stat if I linked it in ?

dont think so would you have to pay a pro to come and have a look?
