Dear Forum Colleagues,

I have just installed a Hudson Reed tap (Genna) and the jet of water is very distorted and untidy. The requirements i terms of water pressure is a minimum of 0.5 bar and my boiler shows that I have 1.1 bar.

Is this possibly a water pressure problem or could I have done something wrong when installing. Could possible residues from fitting new pipes be the the reason behind this?

Would be very grateful for any help.

Best regards

Dan

the gauge on the boiler is the pressure in the central heating circuit ?

Daniel,

The boiler is creating the pressure (no tank in the loft) so the reading must be the pressure for the tap water as well. I think anyway. Overall there is no lack of pressure when turning on the water.

Regards

Dan

yes but the mains pressurises it so if 1.1 bar in heating when cold there must be at least 1.1 bar in mains to fill it up to that presure

Have not seen taps put propably a filter/airiator on end of spout remove and clean, maybe proplem

It could be debris in the pipes, but the most likely explanation is as Puddle suggests. I recently fitted a tap from Ultra (same manufacturer) and had this problem - I found another spout filter in the box which I swapped with the default one and the flow was restored to what you would expect.

Gentleman,

Thank you very much for your input. I will try with another filter to see if it helps. If it would be debris from the pipework how could I deal with that? Reverse flow of water to flush it out?

One thing I also noticed with the tap was that it was very noisy. Is that a common problem and is there a remedy for it?

Best regards

Dan
