Hi, I have just had a thermo shower installed with a new 2.0 bar Grundfos pump. The water pressure is good but there is no hot water coming through at all. The pipe feeding the pump isnt warm but the tank is full of hot water. The rest of the house is being fed with hot water............can anyone help please???

i don't think you will be able to bleed the pipe from the shower end because of the pipe up into the loft. i think the best way will be to cut a bleed valve into the pipe in the loft.

May do as there's less restriction, see if you can suck it out!

Or buy a wetvac from Wickes tomorrow, only cheap and it will be useful in the future. Also saves you cutting into the wall which will be pointless anyway.

Of if you can a normal vac and clear hosepipe you can use that but switch if off before water gets into vac?

I am not a plumber so not sure this is something I can do, plus as I have plastic piping and not copper, I am not certain I can connect a bleed valve???

As a temp bodge you can go to B&Q and get a push fit washing machine valve and use that on the hot as an air vent, look on Youtube for how to use pushfit, dead easy. Make sure pump is isolated first.

I'm afraid I am beaten for today I will try the bodge job tomorrow until I can get my plumber back, thank you all for your help today :)
Do I put the valve in the loft at its highest point?

Yes, cut the pipe square (ideally with proper cutters) but a sharp knife may suffice. Use inserts in pipe to support pipe wall, inserts need to be manufacturer specific eg/ if Hep20 use Hep inserts if Speedfit use Speedfit inserts etc.

Just an update to my problem, it is now sorted, I did cut the pipe in the loft to release the airlock. I now have hot water running through to my shower. A huge thank you to all who took the time to help me out. :)

As a relative newcomer on this site I would like to say "thank you" for coming back and telling us all that you were able to sort it with the help of input from the forumites.

It really makes me angry when people ask for help in some forums and get lots of advice/recommendations, but you never hear from them again as to which bits of advice helped them and sorted the problem.
