before we all go to bed, Danesmoor is an oil boiler, check. and can be open vent, and is suitable for sealed system check. so cylinder can be::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::; either primatic or sealed system,
Put a combi in.

good night.

The Danesmoor has been around for years,it's heat only, not a system boiler.I think the best advice for the OP is to get a plumber to look at the system,I still think it sounds like a primatic cylinder,in which case chemicals must not be added to the system.

It's hasty to just suggest getting a combi,we don't know the hot water requirements of the user. If a new system is needed it should be selected on it's merits, not just because it's the easy option. I'm not a fan of oil combis anyway.
