Noisy central heating.

About a month ago my neighbour asked me what the vibrating noise was coming from my house. She does moan quite a bit but I think id kinda got used to how loud it had become.
I dont really know much about this sort of thing but I got lucky and after moving my grundfos pump from 1 speed to 2 speed the noise went.
The problem is the noise has returned so I went to top speed, unfortunately its still the same.
My heating is tank and not combi.
I think maybe the pump is nearly gone.
Anyone got any other ideas?

Are you sure it's your central heating and not cold feed to cwcs or wc?

Not sure.
I forgot to say the noise happens for about 10 seconds when the boiler fires up.

Not a chattering trv? Can you pinpoint where the actual noise comes from?

Its a loud vibrating noise coming from the boiler in the kitchen. I can feel the vibration in the pipes that feed out from it.

Could be a fan in the boiler. They can be really noisy.

Obvioulsy this would need to be checked by a gas safe registered engineer.

Vibrations can be a nightmare to track down. I have had loads of floorboards up to just find a couple pipes placed in the joists too tightly causing a vibration noise throughout the whole upstairs of a house.

u could try bleeding ur pump to see if this helps

If bleeding pump helps, check your 15mm from F & E tank is not partly blocked with magnetite where it joins 22mm pipework.

Vibrating noise is common when the old ball valves are failing, or just shutting off... It's a long shot, but maybe when the pump kicks in the water level in header drops enough for the fill valve to open & chatter/vibrate...?
