Had one Tvr fitted yesterday and last night it started vibrating and very noisy banging sound. If I turn down from 5 slightly then it stopped....for a while and then, I presume, once it reached lower temperature it started again. Like an older thread on same subject (2011) mine also had a clunk when you turned the valve somewhere around number 4. Plumber came today and instantly said faulty valve. 2 new valves later still doing same. Tried with range of valves from £7 to £22 ..... all same so I am convinced this is not a valve defect.

Any ideas?

It's TRV haha. Are they bi-directional valves? Sounds like a pretty strange problem, is the noise coming directly from the valve? Or possibly the pipework leading to the valve?

Is it just the one radiator or several Scottgirl? :welcome: to the forum :)

Did he try swapping it to other side? People on here have previously said noise can be sorted by putting on flow if it's on return.

Is the system balanced correctly. If the pump is fairly close to the rad then high velocity through the rad can cause vibration.
