wishing access in this forum how many of you know the answer to question 2?

what does tb016 relate to,and how many spillage tests would you carry out on a OF appliance if a extractor fan was fitted in a adjacent kitchen with intercommunicating doors between kitchen and appliance location

You should maybe ask what is the most recent publication date of the tb too (19/8/10)
You can't google that one (i've checked and all you can find is the old 09 list) but can easily look it up on the gsr site.

TB000 is just the index list dated sept 13.
It lists all current tb's and their publication dates so if you look at tb016 you see it was published on the 19/8/10.
You would need to be able to access the gsr site to get that or have a memory like an elephant.

does this take into account the possibility of the first test after 5 minutes not being satisfactory?
possibility of doing more then.

no first test passes, second test is with the extractor running

TB016 is about room sealed flue terminals and plume kits etc etc

id do one spillage test without the fan running and then one spillage test with the fan on, but if the fan had more than one speed I'd do a spillage check for every speed, just like ceiling fans when you test each speed and a test for each direction it spins in :)

Of course that is a possibility. I think the question assumes the possibility that the first test passes. The second would still be required. The same applies to tumble driers or anything that can adversely affect the air pressure in the room with the gas appliance.

First- with all the doors closed and fan switched off. If it fails open doors one by one until it passes

I was going to say that. The answer should be a minimum of 2, as well as the test after 5 minutes you've also got the test with the window cracked open if the fan causes spillage. Then there's the test after the quantum meter runs out halfway through the 2nd test. The one after you realise that you forgot to close the trickle vent on the double glazing. Then the customer installs a ceiling fan whilst you are down the merchants buying another box of smoke matches. You could be testing that appliance for days.

Good job im already in as i dont think i can acces the website anymore as im now empoloyed and my card is out of date regarding quals and i cant see any good reason to pay gas safe any more money seeing as they are getting paid twice for me
