nvq 6089 - nvq 6024

Different colleges must have different policy's because as I said in my last post I have completed my Tech Cert lvl 2 and now doing Tech Cert lvl 3 and my nvq 2.
you should make an appointment to see the head of the department, because surley if you have done the tech cert lvl2 then this is you theory evidence for your nvq 2.
My point is, if you had not chosen to do the tech cert lvl 3, then would they not allow you to do the nvq2?

proably because alot of centres only want you to do one qual at a time, its pointless trying to get your nvq 2 at the same time as your tc3 if your working from a college point of view as you can fail both if you drop out. thats a bad thing, most centres say one qual at a time, most private centres say get as much money as you can.
remember a college is there to educate and private centre is there to get you a cert

yeah, northstar, it is, i bought into the hype! lol

only to realise the truth now its too late, but i do enjoy the plumbing, wish id done it at 16, instead of doing a levels and then a degree!
u live and learn

have 2 say though the training is quite good at btsc, as the tutors that ive had are all good

bb cant see why you are not allowed to do nvq, i have 99% completed 6129 l2 and also 25% of the way through nvq 6089 doing both of them together. are you working withsome one in the trade ?

i am but part time, but with non relevant stuff to the nvq and the work is extremely infrequent

sorry fuzzy, been extremely busy the last week and didnt follow it up, my college said they didnt know, i am currently waiting for a email back from city and guilds, as soon as i get it ill post it on the post or here, sorry again

hello fuzzy,
city and guilds said - "Qualification 6024 is an old course that was superseded by the 6089 qualification."

they havent updated their website so it still shows old quals

oh cheers, that makes sense now thanks mate.
why dont they clear it? 6089 started around 2003!!!!!!!!!!

so how long will the 6089 be there when the 6129 comes out?

to my knowledge, the last reg date for 6089 2 and 3 is 31/03/11.

but the last certification date is roughly 6089 level2 - end 0f 2012
6089 level 3 - end of 2013

We recommend City Plumbing Supplies, BES, and Plumbing Superstore for all plumbing supplies.
