Can I ask you honestly though say from a member of the publics view is it not obvious of the water damage to the floor in the airing cupboard, the leaking pump outlet. And the ceiling damage looks old not new, I just wish I had checked the rooms before I had started but I dont go where I dont need to be in peoples houses :(

Added a couple more of the pictures I forgot to put up.

that leak from the pump hose has calcified and is at least a year old.
if you lift the boards above the cieling dammage you will find an a freash leak leaves relatively clean plasterboard. if it has been leaking a long time it will be black and fungal.
take in a structuall expert and you may find he will confirm the age and cause of the dammage.

How long have you been trading Robtheplumb? And has anyone got a idiots guide to posting pictures so I can show the offending flexis!

make an account on photobucket and upload the photos to it,
after the upload copy the IMG code under the picture and paste it onto the post on here.

Well heard from thier insurance company and they wish to make a claim, so will show the insurance company the pictures of the work installed by the husband. Flexis on rads under concrete floors the shower pump which has been teed in from the hot and cold feeds. And I hope they have the sense to see the shower pump had been leaking for some time which is nothing to do with me.

Do you think I should also mention that the customer wanted me to make the falsify the reciept ie the new rad valvs and trvs as part of the claim for the water damage which he is claiming his insurance for?

Yes mate, I would you have no loyalty towards that S@£T

Another leaking shower pump, maybe my drip tray with overflow connections was a good idea after all?

Your customer sounds a nightmare Winston, Luckily I've only had one like him and I know how to spot the bad apples now.

Dont say anything to his insurance company ....they will try to get you to admit that it was your fault , did they? Go round and tell them you are taking lots of photos as your insurance company needs to see them and be polite. Dont tell your insurance company as they will just not care and cough up anyway, especially if you have any excess. This guy does not have a leg to stand on , protest everything , admit to nothing, at the end of the day there was only 1 professional plumber doing work in the house and the rest of the plumbing work was done by a diy'er, make it as difficult as possible. Insurance are all to willing but they are aware of people who try it on . It is happening to me too. Good luck :(

Well I could do without the grief but I wont back down I didnt do anything to the shower pump and I believe my picture shows that it has been leaking for sometime. As does the picture of the ceiling. All I can say to anyone starting out go to all the rooms and look at the ceilings prior to starting anywork.

I also wonder as he is in breach of the water regs would he also be liable to no conformity of water regulations as would we would?

sounds like one of those jobs where you're inheriting a load of nightmares.... and remember that as the last competent person to touch it you're taking responsibility for it.

worth a note on the invoice that you are only responsible for the work you have done.

then they cant phone you saying "we've got another leak in an un imaginable place where you couldnt even see it - but you were supposed to fix it."

Yes, I've been on the receiving end of that one,.

Wish me luck the insurance assesor is going to the rogue customers today, just hope they can see that it wasnt from my work that any damage was done.:(

Well I am pleased to say that the insurance assesor agreed with me that the ceiling was from a old leak and not from my work. He said that he had a close inspection and found polyfilla there.

If I may I would like to forwarn those that are starting out always make sure you have a camera on you & go through each room with a fine tooth comb. I didnt as I had no reason to be in the living room but from now on I am going to check all rooms for existing damage.
