95 yr old parents have an ancient glowworm 40/48 floor standing boiler that sits in middle of bungalow and has vertical asbestos flue up through roof. The gas valve is dodgy so were looking to put in a new boiler..how disruptive would this be. Presume new radiators, pipework, outside wall location and asbestos issue...???

A quick google search (assuming it’s correct) a new gas valve (if needed) is available. Yes a new boiler would probably be an upheaval they can do without. Asbestos flue to remain (if undamaged) or removed, and new flue routed, possible gas pipe upgrade. It doesn’t necessarily mean new radiators, if existing are in good condition.

Thank you. Ive looked for a valve, but it appears obsolete. Had a chap around some years back who wanted to resite new boiler to garage, change radiators, remove flue.....nighmare! Any way new floor standing one could go in same spot?
