My son just called back to an outside tap at the bottom of the garden of a customer fitted 5 months ago so fully exposed to the outside incl the snow we had and it had started leaking and on removing the thread had broken up..customer refused to pay for new tap or cost of fitting saying it was his fault
i know its only a 5 pound tap plus labour time and diesel but on a principle is it worth threatening small claims court
to me a outside tap exposed to the ice will def have frozen at the end of the garden and expanded and then contracted quite a lot??
i know its a small amount but he also fitted a toilet for someone and got a can we seand the cheque as my husband has the chq book and of course no chq and no sign of anyone at house so my guess is they were a tenant who had broken the toilet and had to get it fixed
