pipes in screed

Quick question ,
Am aware that copper needs p[rotecting etc when in a screed but does iron hae any different regs regarding this?
I ask this as been asked to alter some gas pipes (iron) in a screeded floor.

Water or gas H4S? My concern with gas would be connections in concrete but not sure TBH as stay clear of it! lol

Gas DG , i thought you had to be at a minimum depth 50mm screed over the top and had to protect pipes as usual,cant find my viper book so thought go on here and ask .

Just read me bpec thingy from last year. "In the case of steel and copper pipes, they may be laid on top of the base concrete and subsequently covered by the screed providing that it is protected from corrosion" Hope that helps

and as i recall screwed fitting are considered part of the pipe and dont need access
not that that was part of the question just wanted to sound knowledgeable

Actually the fact that a screwed fitting was under screed was my original concern ambrosia

BS9891 has the info. for coverage, protection etc.
You can use trac pipe anywhere if fitted to the standards.

Screwed/threaded joints do not need to be accessible like compression. Just make sure joints are done properly and fully tested.

Just read through the G2 and it says that the Track Pipe can be buried in concrete floor just as normal pipe. (50mm bed with at least 25mm cover).
