I'm moving to a flat currently fitted with an induction hob, but I really can't live without a wok burner. The best wok burner approved for domestic indoor use is a German propane-fed portable burner. I'm told the manufacturer can re-jet it for methane - but is there a compliant way to get a portable device permanently plumbed into the mains? If so, is it something any registered engineer should be happy to do?
(I have not yet found out whether the manufacturer has gone to the trouble of getting UKCA approval, which may kill off the idea anyway.)

Is it rented the flat as it might be a no go due to the landlord etc

No, I'm buying it.

Check with the building management it’s not a prohibited item due to there insurances / process as likely there’s no gas / fuel in each flat so a canister would be used etc

It's unhelpful to make irrevelant comments in a thread. I didn't ask about any of those things, because I know the answer to them or they don't apply. I asked simply about connecting a designed-as-portable appliance permanently to mains gas, hoping to find out whether it's even possible in theory before I start the hard task of finding a competent and available gas engineer in Edinburgh.

As you stated:
The appliance is designed-as=portable.

Contact the manufacturer and see if the appliance can be installed as a permanent appliance.

If they can give you approval, in writing, that their appliance can be installed as a permanent appliance, you should have no problem getting someone to install it for you.
