Hi

Same problem that I have had for a long time with a shower in the En-Suite. Hot water pressure is very poor. I've now ripped out the lot and intend to install a new bathroom. I've taken the hot pipe off the thermostatic valve and the pressure is still very poor, so I assume the problem is somewhere further up the pipe. The pipes go down through the floor but does anyone know where they go to?. I don't see any 15mm plastic pipes near the hot water tank?

If and I suspect it is an airlock, what would be the best way to clear it.

Any help would be appreciated

Paul

Ok so shower and the en suit and water tank are on above floor level to the hot water cylinder... one more question! The picture of the hot water cylinder you've illustrated feeds all over the hot water outlets in the dwelling, eg:kitchen bath basin etc??
Yes it feeds all the house. Does this drawing help!!

Excellent. Now the hot feed question IS, as this isn't in your drawing illustration!
The feed to the shower...!
Comes directly from the hot cylinder OR is it teed off one of the hot water pipes to the en suit??
Great drawing there pal..)

Well I'm really not sure about that. I've ripped out the wall in the en suite. The pipes from the concealed shower valve are plastic and both go down through the floor. I can't see where they go or if they a,re teed off from the other feed in the en suite. I also can't see any pipe work from the en suite or the bathroom coming back to the cylinder. One thing that used to happen if this helps is when someone was in the shower and someone else ran a tap in the en suite basin the water temp would change dramatically in the shower (thinking then that the pipes are teed)

It all smells a bit Barrett and Taylor whimper all of a sudden? With some weekend plumbing thrown in. Is the top of the cylinder 28mm reduced down to 22mm or 22 down to 15?

Top of the cylinder doesn't have a bend! Instead it's a push fit elbow as illustration. Also the answer is the first tee to the shower isn't from the" first take off " from HWC and teed further up the installation. This is what causes the hot water temperature to drop in the shower room if using it and someone opens the hot elsewhere..

The hot shower pipe that is concealed should be going straight to the first take off from the hot water cylinder feed and expansion pipe

Hi. Just to let you know that I've managed to resolve the issue today. Flushed all pipes using a mains feed from under the sink. Forced it up the hot using a washing machine pipe. All but one hot tap flow came back. Removed the last tap and found the blockage. The insulation from the hot water cylinder appears to have been floating round the system since it was fitted 10 years ago. Removed it all and water has been perfect since. Thanks for your time spannerIMG_3042.jpg
