Agreed but I prefer my lazy workers more studenty so they can be f**ked off easily. People like that bloke would argue that he’s fully qualified so he has rights. The thing I find most annoying is the total lack of effort so many of them put into trying to get the help. Poorly worded, broken English, no please or thank you. I know we’re plumbers not English teachers but what they’re posting is essentially a mini cv then they sulk when you tell them to give you more

I know that I have said this before and it is probably boring but it annoys me . I did what your bro law did. It’s called resettlement. To be honest unless you have done 22 years (I did 6) it’s not worth the paper it is printed on. When I retraded I paid for most of it myself the ARMY gave me next to nothing. Lucky for me I had no kids at the time. When I first qualified I knew absolutely F**K all and I still dont (even though I have been doing this a while now) compared to the apprentiship lads on here. (But im the first to admit that) however I have worked hard over the years. Kept my head down and listened when the old and bold where kind enough (and in the mood) to teach me. If I am not sure of something I ask or most of the time reasearch it. However I do agree with you, the fast track lads that are coming through at the minute can be terrible. They give the decent ones a really bad name. It even annoys me.

The thing is Riley. The society that we live in now has made it completely acceptable for them to be like that. I talk to the kids nowadays (I’m only 36 myself) most have no respect and when I tell them how much effort I put in, all they say is why bother.

Because we come from a generation that work. They’re all used to being gifted everything. I’ve been really struggling g of late with some unexpected bills but you just knuckle down n get on with it

You are absolutely right. I have two little ones and it is so hard to teach them the value of hard work it is unreal. Especially when their mates keep getting given new stuff all the time and for no reason at all. (Here you are. Stop crying and you can have this)

Oh mate don’t get me started on it. I got into this game in such a stupid way. Left school, went to college, did 75-80% of an apprenticeship then in my infinite wisdom decided as a lad of 18 -19 that the best thing for me would be to run pubs for the next few years. Utter waste of my training and to cut a long story short I’ve played catch up ever since. I wish I’d just done it from the word go. But I had to make my own mistakes and at least they were mine you know.
