thats over half a meg! that as good as open circuit at 230v it appears to be faulty to me

At over .5 M ohm the new fan has a very hi resistance

how resistance can change i just took another reading 2,9M ohms ?

two min ago it was 0.5M ohms

Make sure that you are not touching the exposed test leads with your fingers a the meter will measure your bodies resistance
