like most cheap tools to me are false economy, all my hand tools are bacho, with the exception of pump pliers they are knipex, but 2 bacho products i think are total rubbish the junior hacksaw flexes to much and that stupid pump piers they make with the grey button is useless anyone else find this?

Yeah same as you Mark.
Junior hacksaw too flimsy, blade twists and you have a devils own job to get a straight cut. Never have liked those push button grips.
I have the channel lock grips in three sizes, good gripping ability, and they dont break the bank, £30 for the three I think.

As confucious say: buy cheap, buy twice

yes i agree graham i have the big channel lock pliers great for pumps

i love channel lock.

a work mate has got one of those new bacho 15mm benders and admits its not to good. he paid over £100, i have used it and its not anywhere near as good as my record solo and i only paid £6 for that, i like to tell him this :)

record/marples stuff is top kit but you have to buy old stuff to get the quality newer china built irwin tat not in the same league ,shame when the marples factory shut its like all older quality British made kit footprint, marples record, Stanley etc now all made in china

same thing in every area of life quality companies bought out by investment companies purely for the name and reputation the closed down here manufacturing sent abroad
good news is due to rising costs in china and exchange rates we are actually getting more competative

Rate Bahcos the best, especially the 6" extra wide jaw ones for getting behind a bath. I loathe the cheap imported copies of footprints, but I have 2 sets of originals although due to marking of fittings, I mostly use them in confined spaces.

Not a big fan of most things made by Rothenberger these days, prefer Monument especially the pipe slices.

I bought a pair of Robogrips a few years ago. They were meant to be the next big thing and were going to change the plumbing world.... I threw them in a skip after they fell apart in 3 weeks.

Was that those pink rothenberg things. Same principle as the ones in the video. Junk! And they were quite expensive too!!!

Anybody who is interested PM me and i'll give you an idea where to find a set i threw out a back door 10 years or so ago. They were brand new.

when it comes to grips you only need these and a few different sized bacho adjustable
