Just wondering if an 18kW boiler would be using 18kW of power while running at full rate?

I've never thought about it before and it just seems like an awful lot.

Thanks for any info.
 
Not thought about this one before. Output will be 18Kw but input will be made up of electricity and fuel and they definitely don't use 18Kw of electricity!
