I bought a Team replacement
TEAMS MOTORISED ZONE VALVES & HEADS DIRECT HONEYWELL REPLACEMENT FOR V4073 V4043 | eBay

As far as I'm concerned anyone who says something made with springs and gears in 2015 is an engineering marvel is a bloody luddite.

I doubt there would be sludge in a 5 year old system but a
s I said in a prev post the valve moves freely. It's the ****ty gear system, it wears, I can see it wobbling about and slipping under tension.

Hope it’s gonna work for you fine.

You should design your own, you seem to know more than honeywell.

Yeah maybe I should. Lets face it they designed it 40 years ago and haven't changed it since. They'e sold millions of these things and they still cost over £100. It's a blatant ripoff if ever I saw one.

Actually my original post asked for recomended alternatives and asked how to rewire to temp bypass it. Neither Q was answered, I just got retorts about how f'in great honeywell's kit is.

I have now bypassed the gearbox and motor and I have heating back while I wait for the new valve.

Do come visit again when your new eBay valve heads burns out & well try again ;)

To be honest I've seen systems sludge up in less than 5 years, had one in Ascot that took 2 days to power flush it was that bad system was only 3 years old

Your obviously a millionare with your large brain, so a few hundred quid won't matter. Just out of interest why did you bother posting on the site, when your mind is made up. Was it for a good rant per chance?

Luddites - they destroyed machinery rather than admired it I think you will find. I stand by these valves as electro mechanical marvels. What you have bought is a copy of Honeywells valve made with cheaper materials and probably plastic gears.
