Hey fellers, lately, i have been building up lots of pipes. I am just wondering what you guys go for.

I have read the thread on here about them. Which basically says, if the thieves want to get in, they will no matter what!

So, is it worth paying out for a proper pipe tube?

I am in need of some sought of contraption, and since i just ended up with enough scrap, to buy a proper tube, should i?

depends how you want to look imho cow boy or pro so to speak and whats it going on

i see, cowboy or pro. I have a 2006 vauxhall vivaro. Nice van. So i guess i need a nice pipe tube a.

Any ideas where to buy them? You can get 6inch ones can't you? Am sure i have seen them, but can't find them online

I've got my 3 metre long pipe tube fixed INSIDE my van so that I can access it from the back door. Far more secure than on a roof rack.

Google Rhino pipe carriers or buy from Screw Fix but they are expensive for them.

Nothing wrong with a neatly constructed 110mm soil pipe with 2 screw on end caps. I did with this for ages and I aint no cowboy. Some of you on here put image before substance. You can drive around in a brand new shiny van, have the latest tools and tech, be spotless in designer branded workwear, but chances are you'll be cack at your work and probably served your time on a 3 month fast track course.

If some wee scumbag wants to break into your van, they will. They don't care about you, your tools or your livelyhood, they only care where their next fix is coming from. I also welcome any new government legislation controlling scrap metal merchants. All too often I've seen many lengths of brand new copper tube and even rolls of lead in them.

I have the truxrax set up, very good kit. It does look a lot better than a bit of soil pipe. But if it gets you more work? I dont know.

used to have a soil pipe on my old escort, twice someone tried to rob pipe but it was empty so they just threw the screw cap away instead.
Now got a transit connect and it looks too nice to put a soil pipe on it. Got the Rhino tube with roof bars now, made up. Can fit much more pipe in than a soil pipe and the lock seems to be a good deterrant atleast.

Aint got caps on both ends mine lost them years ago leaving them on top of van and fed up replacing them on to lose them again a week later

well theres only one way to find out.........................fiiiiiiight

i've got a 3m x approx 100-125mm dia, aluminium pipe tube in my garage, its been there for yrs and it aint ever going back on a roofrack of mine, so if anyone local wants it they are welcome to pick it up, (unless someone can be bothered pricing and sorting uplift from Coatbridge Lanarkshire) no hurry but this thread made me think about it and TBH someone would be as well using it as it lying in the garage

Can I have it mate? Was looking to get one for my other van.
