i am sure i got £4.70 kg a few months ago
Yep, it was £5.00 a few months ago here. Copper wire, if stripped, is worth at least what pure copper is, & even if you can't be bothered doing that, it's still sellable.
 
My scrap, wouldn't take a cylinder as clean as it had scale in it, even though I took cylinder 2 months before and they gave me fixed price. I tried to ask price but they didn't answer me, not that bothered too be honest, its all free money either way.
 
For 20p a kilo they can take the old fitting off who's got time for that!
