HMM, I am a bit worried as if you have unvented certificate, you should be a "competent person" meaning you are competent to install a unvented appliance, now if you are not competent in fitting a unvented cylinder what has gone wrong? was it the course you went on or is it you?

just out of curiosity did you do the unvented as part of the NVQ3 or did you do it seperately?

Was it fast track or was it at college?

Are you asking me that

Are you asking me that

No asking the OP, If he has done the course then he should know something as simple as that, shouldn't he?

I can understand a little as it is a bit of a difference between each plumber, some say flow, some say return.

And I am not having a go at him, Just wondering how he does not know, when he has done a competent persons scheme (G3) and he does not feel 100% competent.

kind of makes a mockery of the G3 unvented course, Doesnt it?

does the unvented course now cover heating systems then ? When I did it it only covered hot water storage & didn't even touch on heating systems

The course is a mockery it's simple ever heard of anyone failing it ????

I did my unvented in 1987, before unvented was legally allowed in the uk, and i've never done a resit but i'm still "competent" and hold the ticket! How is that possible? lol.

Nothing is simple if you don't know the answer

And referring back to your own post on the 31st of march. Should you be allowed to work on heating systems if your not fully aware of air locks and procedures for removing them??

We arnt here to mock. We are here to help

Rant over!

Sorry to anybody that I have offended, I have turned into the thing I hate most about this forum.
but as Gray0689 says is the course worth anything except a ticket to do unvented?

I think the g3 is to make it easier for the powers that be to hold someone to account rather than a training aid, same with ACS.

I do get your point on not mocking, but where in the NVQ course is there any thing on how to remove air locks?

I might be wrong but I have never seen anything on air locks.

I hope this doesnt seem like I am mocking, just simply curious.
