Ok guys heres what happened during the sevice of the boiler obviously i had the bioler running on service mode ...and had the CH on max and the i think 7mins into it.... boiler stop running...the pressure guage had gone past 2m/bar what did i do wrong? i read the manual again and it said to have the DHW running Please read note: my Question is as daft as it may seeem the pressur guage rose becos i didnt run the DHW right?:13:hmmm ThanksNOTE: When running in the service
mode, the boiler will operate both
the central heating and the domestic
hot water circuits. This is to allow
sufficient time for this part of the
commissioning procedure. It will be
necessary to run water through the
domestic hot water circuit to ensure
that the boiler will not cycle

Hi ej-ay ... The gauge will rise because the heating circuit is being heated and thus expanding. So nope the gauge didn't rise because you didnt run the DHW it rose because the heating was on :)

heating system has gotten up to temp and switched off, done its job.

:smilewinkgrin:thanks for your replies really wanted to confirm

perfectly fine imo

hope you replaced the red gasket if its over 2years

Does it state you have to change the gasket every two years Simon, sur its only if you break the seal

They only require a strip and clean if the fan pressure is out. Then you'd have to change the gasket. I changed one after two years at home but did the Worcester course and they said if fan pressure is ok then seal is sound.

only if you have to get to burner on service which is if your fun pressure is less then -3.5mbar (not sure ) and co-co2 reading out over 0.008

The ratio has to be below 0.0020 on the worcesters. less than 200ppm CO and normally 9.8%max CO2

Not sure on the ratio, I've got the print out off Worcester in the van and I live by that. If the ratio is out this can normally be adjusted with the co readings at the gas valve, on the high and low settings.

bearing in mind most red burner gaskets look like this after 2-3 years and still give a good negative pressure reading

I've never seen one like that, I worked on a contract where they wanted them changing regardless, all gave good fan readings and looked sound when I pulled them out. Maybe that one was a dodgy one from source. Like I say, I changed quite a few and never found one in that state.

have you got few on the side , along with a servicing kit for worcesters boilers ?

Ive got a servicing kit with the brush and the stick for the baffles. But I ain't got any seals, I only buy them from the merchants when I need them, I got a couple off a Worcester engineer the once when he came to a job I was on

I have stripped a fair few down and have never found one in bad condition.
