Any thoughts on todays news about shale gas,with the findings in the north of England this can only be good for the region.If it can solve the energy crisis and give renewables time to get up to a half decent standard.I think we take natural gas for granted a bit,remember doing solid fuel to gas conversions in mining areas in the early 90's.The customers were happy as,felt funny as us townies had being brought up with NG.Just hope my gaff doesent fall to bits with the mini earthquakes,as long as I can keep my bottom warm.

in the usa prices for gas have dropped a quarter using shale, the average price for house holders is around £400 in those supply areas!!!

over here, the gas will eventually be pulled out cheaper, sold to the electric grid then sold to us for more as they will say...although it is sustainable source the cost is high so we will put up your electric bills to pay for it!! but feel good, your saving the planet by going green!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's knocked the rose tints off,a bit like in the early 70,s when north sea NG came online and ''Gas would be cheap''
