Not everybody is paying peanuts for their boilers look at how much British Gas charge.

The hard part is getting them customers they are out there somewhere.

BG can easily get those customers because a majority of the jobs are on Finance packages payable over say 3-10 years. Plus they promise you a £400 ''cash back'' etc etc.

Besides, if your supplier is BG, and they charge you £3,500 for a boiler change, and the local guy charges £2.600. Most (unfortunately) will go with BG?

Big company, supplies my gas, so must know all about gas. Local plumber, must be incompetent as his price is so low compared to BG. FFFFttttttttt

Ive said i can beat it for the same equipment or match the quote and fit a much better product :)

Just lost a conversion from OV to combi. My price was £2600, bloke said my quote was much more comprehensive but a little bit high. Guess which he went with? Yep, that's right, the guy who's price was £1800.

Idiot. How can we win when this is what we're up against? Stupid plumbers are stupid punters.

I lost similar conversion to someone who did it for 1600 :(

Again I know several firms that do conversions at silly low prices noticed other day some Muppets had no call out charge advertised on their van

They quoted £90/month for 5 years to swap a combi to a chap I know. That's 5.5 k for a combi swap

Cheapest bath taps for dyno are nearly £500 supply and fit, can get same taps for about £60 in plumbfix

It's a beautiful job! I pay apprentice less than that and if he left pipework like that I would smash his teeth out with his gas bottle.

That pipework truly is a work of art, isn't it? Some of it looks like he's re-used offcuts..

You tight git, making the apprentice pay for his own gas. What makes me laugh is he has pulled sets but they are all ****ed? Why bother even bending it?

hammers, you seen AJT advertising £1200 supply and fit logic plus combi for combi inc. VAT?

The problem is that I can see this Gsr being recommended simply due to the price. Some Custards won't even care about quality of workmanship. He wants me to go around and fix all the problems. Not on your nelly mate.

We have uniforms, branded vans all latest kit......... Engineers are tosh ........... Gone bust

The flue position is all wrong, looks too close to the drain pipe and should probably have some sort of heat shield above it to stop it damaging the wood. But without seeing the MI's I couldn't be sure, but I'd say it wrong.

Glowworm is 25 mm both to the wood and to the downpipe
