What do you do?
I put down dust sheets if it’s an all day job but 1-2 hours I tend to kick my shoes on and off or wear them like slippers and they fall apart after a few weeks.
Over shoes?
Shoe protectors?
Nothing and get the place muddy?
Dust sheets for every job?

Depends if it’s clean outside normally just make sure my shoes are clean

if dirty overshoes Amazon product

yep

I use those expensive re-usable, washable rolls of vinyl backed cotton work mats (Dikie Dyer Tradesman's runner), occasionally supplemented by (much cheaper) clean old towels along walkways.

Unless I'm working in my own house, in which case I usually end up breaking all my own rules. No self-respect, it seems!

I find taking shoes on and off to be a waste of time, but the last thing I want to do is walk into people's houses with outside shoes on. Had it drummed into me. When I invite workmen in to my own house and they walk in with outside shoes on (even though I myself usually take them off in my own home), they lose several points in my estimation as they are not showing respect for my home.

Dust sheets if it's all day job I have water proof work mats, Antinox floor protection is Good my window fitter mate uses these over shoes say they work well , or for the fashion conscious colour match your foot wear with your work wear FFS 🤣🤣 . Kop
