I did report it GSR by telephone, passed all the info on to their customer service team, they took the telephone numbers , addresses and names of the customers.
I was told that they would look into it and will be passed onto N.I.T - it's upto them now
 
BTW as GSR ever brought a successful prosecution against any none GSR installing boilers,
People are regularly prosecuted for installing boilers without being on GSR. Loads of people every month. It is reported on HSE website and in their monthly Gas bulletins (free email).

About these incidents - it may be that the customer will comply and tell GSR/HSE who the installer was. After all they paid a lot of money to have a faulty installation (even if it was a lot cheaper than what we charge).
The OP may never find out what happens and prosecutions can take over a year.
 
I reckon they installed second hand boilers themselves and they don't work - which is why they got them in the first place. For what it's worth, I also think you did the right thing.
