Hi, best way to go about fitting these? The length of thread means the back plate elbow is deep in the wall for the square shroud to fit flush with the tile.

Is it best so sit the back plate elbow forward and trim down the Brass thread ?

Yes trim down the brass 1/2 thread to match your build up afterwards eg normally make sure the female iron fitting is flush on the front with the plasterboard etc
