Evening all,

I have been out to a Sime ecomfort he combi and was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with these lovely high quality machines :)

Basically, no heating or hot water, fan runs but never goes to ignition stage.

upon removing the combustion cover, it fires straight up. So one would assume the APS is not doing what it should.

Called Sime technical, I say technical, but I can't be certain as I was asking the guy questions and I could hear him asking another guy for the answers :confused::confused:

They eventually concluded that I should be getting 240v at the APS, which I was not, only a small voltage reading. Therefore it was the PCB.

Now I really don't want to go and fit this £170 PCB tomorrow as I just have a niggling feeling it will be something else.

So has anyone got any experience with this boiler and can offer any assistance?

Cheers

Well can not see removing the front casing can have any effect on voltage, thats the trouble with technical lines, often a waste of time, luckily do not have to use very often
front case removal and boiler working ,as you say points to flue problem, aps, flue integrity, fan, venturi, would not think about investing in a new pcb at this point

imho

If it is firing up when you take the combustion cover off then its because your letting oxygen into the combustion chamber which it is not getting from the flue. youve got the ignition and the fuel (gas) add oxygen and hey presto... like puddle said id be looking at the flue

I agree with Puddle if the boiler fires its very unlikely to be the pcb, defo above problem I would go for good luck

Well after all that it turns out the boiler is still 3 weeks in warranty! So Sime will be going out to it, somehow I feel like I have dodged a bullet :)

Unfortunately I live in a area that is full of Sime, C&M and Saunier Duval. So no doubt our paths will cross again and I intend to be victorious!!

Top Man you avoided that nicely lol I use to be an agent for them years ago
