Hi, I am new to this Forum, not a plumber but would appreciate some technical advice. Got a Mira Minibelle mixer unit running off a 20 year old Vaillant combi boiler. Problem is loud squeaking/squealing noise coming from unit during operation. Unit is approx 4 1/2 years old and was fine for first 18 months. Have had a plumber come to look at it but no luck. Contacted Mira who say it is probably an imbalance between hot and cold water feeds. If cold tap is operated in sink next to shower noise stops. Have bee advised new unit or pressure reduction valve may resolve issue. Help!!

hi wilks welcome to the forums. sounds like you have got imbalanced water pressure through the shower as when you turn cold tap on the noise stops. so a pressure reducer would be the way to. hang about and others will be along to give their opinions on your problem.

prv is the way to go. Even if you get a new unit you would still potentially want the prv. If you are doing it yourself have a look on toolstation. Not a fortune.
