In our house which we are currently modernising (the previous / existing pipework for the radiatiors was the old imperial piping for the radiators which the plumbers changed when they put in a new system boiler greenstar 30 cdi and new radiators replacing an older stelrad floor mounted boiler which had two seperate feeds I think for upstairs and downstairs.

However in the airing cupboard next to the hot water cyclinder is an inline pump which I thought just powered the shower, however it turns out that is powers the hot water tap in the bath along with a hot water tap in a seperate bathroom upstairs via plastic white pushpipe fittings. - Is this normal or should I get the plumbers to replace this with a new copper feed from the hotwater cyclinder?

Hi all

Just an update - the came today still not fixed though but they have

1.) Tightened the nut on the rad that was leaking
2.) Changed the valve on the cold expansion tank from a type 1 to a type 2? - which seems to have made it slightly quiter. Basically they said that is all that can be done - but if you go up the loft you can constantly hear it drip? is this normal or do they have some adjusting to do as it was an apprentice who did this

However the following still needs resolved tomorrow

3.) With the vibration, whirring noise coming from the boiler when the hot water is on and resonating through the pipework to the hw cylinder - it seems as though its the non return valve that is faulty and that is causing this as when he banged it it stopped but then returned, so they are going to replace it tommorrow. The non return valve on the cental heating pipework is fine and is not making a noise.

Pipework still seems noisy to me so could there be more air in the pipework as they had most of it out 2 days ago

Hi, I am I just want to make sure they are doing it correct and not just fobbing me off - when people keep mentioning about why are they using non return valves etc I begin to worry.
