I'm a shared freehold manager. We have one leaseholder who tells his tenant that he has connected to the"communal gas supply" and there are no bills. We have no such thing of course, and have tried to get the Grid to investigate but their theft team are reluctant or just inefficient. One gas supplier mentioned to me "the extinct meter" and seemed to be about to add "scam" on the end. The flat's a recent conversion done by the leaseholder who's also a builder, and who refuses despite a court order to allow the freehold landlord's surveyor access.

Anyone help?

Can you smell gas outside the property?.... The Grid have Right of Entry in the case of an emergency.

Kick the frigging door in and investigate.
I've done it myself, scary the first time but gets easier later.

What sort of property you taking about here? House, flat, factory etc? Bit more info may help! Theft is theft however. Try crime stoppers :)

Thanks. Sure it would make us feel better, but we're already up to here in lawyers.
