Sorry, but I think over 600 quid on a crapper is ridiculous. Imho.

Yep. Just as it is to spend 200k on a car, or £1000 on some designer clothing.

But each to their own. At least they are over-spending on something useful. :)
 
We sold a £25,000 black marble bath once. They had to take the front of the building out and crane it in, after they had reinforced the floor with structural steel.

And the water storage to feed it was another several £k - including a Sarena plastics tank that had to be made in sections to get it in. That was a nightmare in itself.

I expect its still there - in the penthouse suite of one of the hotels on Southsea seafront.

Id disagree on the clothing front :)

its nice to have expensive clothes, and people can tell when what you're wearing cost a few quid.

Ive spent ridiculous amounts on clothes in the past, and I don't regret any of them :)
