Not happy that I had to work saturday, but it is my overspill day. First job was to replace a knackered frost stat and re pressurise the expansion vessel. No problems and onto my next. New mira sport installed and not working properly. Checked it all over and cleaned filter and still no good. Put a call into mira for an engineer to come out. Waste of time cos im sure its the water pressure. Anyway onto my last job. Rad swap. Id done a little job for them about 6 years ago. Since then theyve gone through various plumbers but the lad booked in for the rad swap had a heart attack and is waiting for a triple bypass. So turns up blind. They have a 1800 x 600 k2. The story is that changing rad as it's not getting warm. I say it might be just the trv. Well we'll have the new rad on. No problem. I got there at half one (late start as having an easy day, yeah right). Drained the rad and got under the floor. First surprise, its hep. Rad off new one on. Flying. Dropped the pressure and changed lockshield no problem. Pulled off the old trv, water running slow. Hooked it up and repressurised. Worcester 40cd. What a pile of cack. I thought id fill it through the trv first. Nothing. Through the lockshield fine. Carpet up. This was after finding out that the boiler only ticks over for 15 minutes after power off. Bloody gas boilers. So after a few boards upni find that the rad was moved from opposite side of room. Copper been cut and hep straight connector. Pulled off the connector and got a nice hot shower. 5m of hep on the flow absolutely chocka with cack. By now it was half six im totally peeved and dont have any plastic pipe. So i tidy up and repressure the boiler. Back tomorrow to replace the pipework. Also have to fit a filter and another radiator. Im as sick as a chuff.
