hiya...my names michael reynolds I'm a tiler in peterborough. i have been given government funding to become a plumber and am looking for a company in or around my local area to have a apprenticeship with.
iv been self employed for over 10 years, I'm hard working and am a fast learner.
i hold a cscs and ecs card, have my own transport and ppe, tools ect.
this would be a excellent opportunity if a company is expanding.
please feel free to contact me on 07894 984763 or [email protected]

thanks

hiya..... free adult apprenticeship to be a plumber...but i have to find a employer for this......not having much luck at the mo....... no ones taking on in this chaotic time we live in!!!!

normally it costs the employer for a apprenticeship..... but mine is free.
of course I'm not going to earn much money... but I'm sick of being in and out of work.
because i can tile to a high standard i thought this would be my advantage.
i have till the end of next month....then its not free!!!
all i can do is try my best to find an expanding company......wish me luck.
thanks

it can't be free, it must just be a certain amount towards the apprenticeship. Keep trying mate I'm sure your tiling skills will come in handy to someone !

no its free.. up until the end of July..then the money pot runs out.. ill make you laff now,the government is trying to get more tradesmen back in work...but fail to realize there is not much work about......or is there???????

If it all goes pear shape you could always put ads online seeing if someone wants to do a skill-swap. plenty of plumbers that would like to be able to do more than basic tiling, you teach them, they teach you. You'd gain some experience and use that to gain more. Once you've got a basic idea about plumbing you've got more chance. But unless you're writing to every company in a 50 mile radius with an ethusiastic and well-presented proposal you've not got much chance. It's beyond baron out there at mo. But good luck!

I've had a few young school leavers asking me who say they have £8000 commonwealth grant(because glasgow is building for commonwealth 2012) so the government are trying to get more apprenticeships, there doesnt seem to be a shortage anyway alot of ppl have left the construction trade though and are doing other jobs

when i found out i had funding i sent out 16 letters and c.v s around my local area ............................................................................................................not one has replied and this was 3 weeks ago....but i shall not give up the chance of spending the govs money.even if i have to travel 50 miles to find the golden ticket..

I would try alot more than that, the only downside is the fact they have to pay you minimum wage where as a school leaver is like £2.90 per hour. BUT if you offer them professional tiling services as well as cheap labour, then you might have a better chance than others

It's the Train to Gain scheme. I thought it finished already and only those who are involved will be able to finish retroactively. New government decided to cut all funding.

Do you have any knowledge about plumbing or are you completely new? If you are fully competent I may have good advice for you.

I saw this guy once. He was hanging around the w/c's in the merchants. He was there for some time. Turns out he heard it was a good place to meet blokes by the toilets. :rolleyes2:
